Mechanic in Jacksonville/Wilmington?

I'm in need of a good mechanic in the Jacksonville or Wilmington area. I see a lot of MINIs around Wilmington so I'd imagine they all get serviced somewhere. Any help? Thanks.

There may be some there but most Mini owners take them to Charleston, SC or Charlotte NC.

Or, depending on what you're having done, Thomasville, NC (Grassroots Garage). Charlotte, Charleston or Winston-Salem for dealer service. Grassroots for "fun stuff" and out-of-warranty service... it's worth the drive...

I found a place in Wilmington that's worked on MINIs before. Hopefully they know what they're doing. Any place outside of 100 miles was out of the question beacuse it needed to be towed there, it seems my crank pulley has gone bad. I was considering having it lowered in the near future so I may have to check out Grassroots. I'll be sure to report back with how the repair goes.

let us know what you find. I spent 11 years in Wilmington and I have nothing nice to say about any mechanic I ever met in this town. The only one who didn't try and rip me off ended up closing (go figure). Lucky for me I have Tüls who if I smile all cute like will climb under my MINI

PS
Glad to see another local on here :D

There's a place, I think called Carl's Autoservice in Dutch Square. My dad has had a lot of work done including engine rebuilds there.

I ended up taking it to Performance Auto on Covil Ave just off of Market Street. They were very friendly and did a good job putting on a new crank pulley. So far the MINI is running just like it did before the crank pulley failed (that's what's wrong with it if I didn't say already). They specialize in BMWs and they've worked on some MINIs before and said they can do anything that doesn't involve interfacing with the computer. I'd recommended them or take my car there again, they seemed honest and very helpful.

Glad they were able to fix it, and that's running great again!
