2008 changes in the UK now but not in US til???? if ever.

Sorry if this is rehash for a lot of you. I was just asking Mini if we would see the UK changes in the US. No one seems to know if this is going to happen and if it is, when.

"We can advise that within the UK there are going to be very slight changes to MINI Hatchbacks manufactured from Week 31 Monday 30th July 2007, which are: MSA - Automatic Engine Start/Stop as standard The Auto Start-Stop Function, available with manual transmission cars, automatically switches the engine off when the vehicle is stationary andthe driver puts the car into neutral. To restart, the driver only needsto engage the clutch before pulling away in the normal manner. The system may be de-activated at the touch of a button when not required. This technology will reduce both the fuel consumption and the emissions of the car. iGR - Brake Energy Regeneration as standard Brake Energy Regeneration works by using an Intelligent AlternatorControl (IAC) and an Absorbent Glass Mat battery to recycle previouslylost energy, which saves fuel. The IAC reduces drag on the engine byonly engaging when required to charge the battery, whereas a traditionalalternator is always pulling power from the engine. Additionally, the energy generated by the engine on over-run (under braking or descendinga hill) was previously wasted. Now this lost energy is utilised by theIAC to charge the battery. This technology reduces fuel consumption by approximately 3%. SPA - Switch Point Display made standard Switch Point Display aids drivers of manual transmission MINIs inselecting the most economical gear in which to drive. The engine management system analyses speed, road situation and accelerator pedalposition and based on this data calculates optimum gearing. The ideal gear is then displayed by number in the cockpit display. This technologycan reduce fuel consumption if the customer follows the visual data. 249 - Multi-function for Steering Wheel The Cruise Control element of this option will include a set speeddisplay indicator in the cockpit. 521 - Rain Sensor A new button for the rain sensor. With this change the rain sensor canbe switched on or off according to the customer preference.
We are unable to advise on whether this will take place within the American marketplace."
