Ive had my mini test driven today by a well respected performance shop to see if they thought my clutch was slipping,after a couple of blips up,back and around i was happy to hear that the clutch is biting and gripping just fine.What i was shocked to hear was the guy who has driven many 200bhp + cars over the years thought my mini didnt feel any quicker than a stock cooper s similar to his wifes!!.He said it was very smooth and drove well but didnt feel quick and definatly not 200bhp.
I have to say im gutted and wounder if im loosing power /boost from anywhere,my performance mods are listed below ,what should i be expecting?

Get it on a dyno that has stock and JCW MINI references, record your ignition timing, boost, IAT, and AFR, and go from there tracking down the problem.

 

Well a month or two back, I posted something similar. I thought my clutch was slipping. I found out I was losing compression after I checked my spark plugs for their condition. When I got to cylinder number two, it wasn't even tight. All the rst took little effort to free. I ended up torquing them down to 25 lb. ft. and haven't had in trouble since. Check your plugs.

 

200 bhp with all those mods. I would think 200WHP without any timming being pulled. on a somewhat side note (but maybe not). what size venom shot do you use? and where did you plug it in? (drivers side intercooler horn?)

your not going to see very much gains on the dyno for the IC and the scoop of course. these are wind dependent and extemely variable.

just read it was someones butt dyno. how does it feel to you?

 

Im not using the venom kit anymore ,So its not plumed in on the engine side.Just want someone to help me remove it all so i can sell it.I would like an idear of what bhp i should get with the other mods i have ,also i will be reverting back to a big valve head and high lift cam at the end of the year so i will get my car on the rollers then and get it mapped accordingly.Do you think i should be seeing 190bhp + at the fly wheel though.
