Short Shift Shift Well!!

Hey,
I'm getting ready to buy a short shifter for my '02 MCS, and I'm set on the Alta shift kit. The only thing I want to make sure of is that the cravenspeed shift well cover will still fit on there with the alta shifter. I know that the cravenspeed shift kit is essentially very similar to the alta, but I still would rather have the alta. Personally, I don't see a reason why it would, but I just want to be positive. Can anyone help me out with an answer?

I just had mine done accept it's Craven SS and the silver well cover. I LOVE IT. It makes the interior looking totaly cool.

Also, I was wondering, what made you decide on the Alta's SS? Just curious since I just had mine done and decided to go with Craven. The reason was the simple adjustable *** to adjust the SS on the lower part of the shifter rod. You can basicaly do it while sitting on a red light in traffic.

To be honest, the only reason I finally decided on the Alta, after much debate and forum research, was for that reason exactly. I just like the fact that the postition gets locked in when you adjust it. Not like the craven is just going to start turning on you when your shifting, I just wanted the locking postition from the Alta. That's pretty much the only reason.

I have had mine on and looks perferct with no problems of turning or anything. And as a matter of fact that was exalty the opposite of what I wanted of Alta's locking position. A simpler self adjusting SS without any tools or removal of parts. The adjusting is done very simply by just turning the *** at the bottom of the rod. The locking position is very firm on the Craven's and it locks very well and doesn't seem to be something that would turn by itself at all.

Anyway, hope you like yours as I love mine with the well cover.

Yeah, I definitely know that it wouldn't turn on you or anything, just wanted the locking one. That's about the best reason I got. Either way, I'm pretty stoked to get it in there, and I think it's going to look pretty sick without the whole boot and being able to see the whole stick in there.
