Center Single Speedo Dash?

I'm curious as to if anyone has seen a dash built around the single center speedo setup like mine... I haven't ever seen one and am curious as to if I will have to design my own to make it work.... I love the simple look and want to keep my stock single setup...

hmm.....

Hey Wedriveminis,

I'm a classic mini newbie (so what do I know?), but fwiw, I love the simplicity of your single speedo with the parcel shelf. I wouldn't change it.

The single speedo was the common unit in early Minis esp low end models (850cc)

I have that kind of set up in my Mini. The black backing of the dash is kinda caving in though. Might get a new one...

There's a kit....

this kit is harder to find but around...think it was called a Rokee...

3 pieces - each side has a door.

UPDATE - MiniMania has a couple on their site - Rokee 3 piece and a flat one....therefore we know someone is producing again and my guess is if you can identify the OEM you can get one with whatever combination of holes you want (or don't want)

http://www.minimania.com/web/Item/DA.../InvDetail.cfm

As many have said - the purity of the shelf is very cool, but I get lots of comments about the wood dash and consder it a very 'period correct' upgrade.... Depends on what you want to show - complete stock or as I describe mine, a 70's modified ..... A little retro, a little bling, a little ice but not too much.....

I saw a carbon fiber dash kit on Mini Mania.

Rokee also did a similar walnut dash board for the single centre speedo without the 2 gauges each side and with or without side air vent holes up until the late 1970s, they sometimes turn up at auto jumbles, etc. Personally I now prefer the old fashioned simple look with the parcel shelf because its so rare and surprises people used to todays gadget laden cars!
