Looking to buy MINI in Denver

Well first off let me say that i have always wanted a mini, but just never bought one. Instead i bought a 2005 pontiac gto. I love the car its fast, but is expensive as can be. $700 payment, $300 insurance, $300 gas. So i have decided that she needs to go.

So i decided to come back onto the forums and see if you guys have seen any minis for sale in town? I went to the mini dealership, and won't be going back there. They way low balled me on my trade in, and as you probably know. Won't budge on price even for used cars. So i'm looking for a used cooper (don't care s or not) for a starting price of under $20,000. So if anyone knows of any dealerships that have them i would love to know, and hope to join the community very very soon.

Josh

Josh, I am sure you will find a MINI

but you may need to go national. Post right here in NAM a 'WTB' thread and you will get some offers. Depending on how particular you are, there are always good (perhaps, the best) MINIs out there, for sale here.

Nothing like buying an enthusiast car from another enthusiast.

Try it, it might work. Also, post in the Rocky Mtn Forums.

Lol, it is such a small world. How did you like the 07? I'm actually walking out the door right now to go look at one. Fingers crossed.

So how did you like it, lol? As of right now, that's what I plan to buy in late Sept. I've built my own online, now I just have to wait. Although I'm looking at rumors there is a AWD mini in development so uh ya... I'll probably go with teh 07 more than likely.

BTW, it drives so nicely and has very nice pick up. Not big on torque steer, but meh I can deal with it, haha.

The mini that i drove at the dealership was ok. It was just a standard mini, so wasn't that fun. The mini i went to go look at yesterday wouldn't start. I got there and the guy goes, we don't know whats wrong with it. We tried to jump it and nothing. So i'm waiting to hear back from them when they figure out what they messed up. It was a nice s though. Its a smaller dealership too, so hopefully i can get them down a couple grand. If so i may go for it.

You might also want to check out MINI's for sale by individuals. You can be sure they want to sell their cars for more than a dealer will give them, and are willing to take less than a dealer would take for the same car. If you buy right (2005 or newer) with relatively low miles you'll still be covered by full maintenance and bumper-to-bumper warranty. I bought my first MINI (2005) from an individual, drove it for 18 months and put 13,000 miles on it, then sold it easily for only $150 less than I paid. A well cared for used MINI holds its value as good as or better than any other drive. If you decide to explore this option, check out ads in the paper or on craigslist - there are many to choose from. Good luck whatever you do, and I think you'll be thrilled you got a MINI.
