Alta 2.5" vs. 3.0" Exhaust?

Are there any additional benefits to going to the Alta 3.0" exhaust vs. the 2.5"? Are there flow restrictions in the 2.5"? Also is the exhaust tone different between the 2?

Cheers

Cody

2.5'' is plenty big for an MCS, unless you really need it bigger- maybe if you have 19%, new head, etc). The 3.0'' will be louder.

+1...I want the most power without hurting torque as possible. Check my sig...which would be best? Thanks.

I was told the 3" is mainly for Turbo applications, and I guess now with these higher flowing heads and upgraded Superchargers.

I had the 3.0 and it was very loud even though it sounded awesome. I now have a Borla street.

For Chris I'd say 2.5''

I'd go with the 2.5. 3incher is more for turbo applications or custom heads

There is quite a significant noise increase with a 3" system when compared to a 2.5" setup. I am running a custom 3" Burns Stainless header and cat-back that reduces to 2.5" at the Y-split for the dual exhausts. That header replaces the 3" header that I previously had been running. My new system has a most impressive and authoritative tone, but the in-cabin drone is a feature that rules out Bluetooth conversations...

I'll try to make a recording, and with some help I may be able to post it on the forum. IMO, you might get the "best of both worlds" with a 2.5" header and exhaust.

Good luck ...
