Newb questions about suspension!!

Hey i have a 2005 mini cooper (non s) i want to order some lowering springs for it. Ive been searching on here on what to get and what not, but it seems everyone on here has the s model. It looks as if the H sports and the M7's are the most popular spring to purchase. My question is will the springs lower my car to the same amount that an s is lowered to with after market springs? even though they started at a lower height. Like the H sports say 1" is that from the s height or will it be more since the non s sits higher. Will i be ok with just springs or will i need camber adjustment plates as well (i read that somewere on here) Also im going to get 17" wheels for it, would i have a proablem running a 215/45/17 tire with eather of those spring? All help is greatly appreciated.

1.3 inch drop is what i beleive the hsports and m7s give so i suspect your car will sit pretty low and fill in the well gaps with those 17's and 45 tires....i think either or and you should be set nicely.....make sure to get some nice shocks and bars to keep the ride nice and stiff
