Fitment on R53?
Yes, it will barely fit due to larger than stock tire diameter of 25.1" and wider sectional width of 9.1" (tread width 8"). 8.5" wide rims are 1.5" wider than stock giving much less clearance to the wheel arches.
If you have stock suspension you'll be ok with minimal rubbing under full load (4 people) mostly in the back against the plastic wheel arches going over uneven roads or if turning hard. Just drive easy/smoothly.
If you have lowered suspension you probably will have more significant rubbing and might need to trim and cut plastic from the rear inner wheel arches- just use a dremmel tool. 3/4" drop might be OK. 1" drop likely to rub.
I dropped my MCS with H-sport springs only and got rubbing with 215/45-17 tires that are 24.7" tall.
I'm on stock but i'll look into getting 17in RGRs since i may look into
the JCW suspensions in the future plus i dont' want to deal with tire rubbing issues at all.
Thanks for your help!
