any dealerships in Nor California sell MSRP?

I bought my last Mini from Long Beach but moved to NorCal. If I can't find a dealership that will sell at MSRP here, I'll just buy from Long Beach again.

Yep, East Bay has been the only one in the past.
Now buy your car and go back where you belong.

Welcome to NorCal - and make sure you don't refer to freeways with a 'The' in front of them, it's a dead giveaway.

I also ordered at MSRP from Niello in Sacramento.

They do list a markup on the sticker of the MINI's in stock. But all I had to do to get MSRP was to ask.

They've changed their policy then.

+1 That's so true. "The 80" doesn't exist.

I'm guessing that cars sitting on the lot will do that.

How brutal was the markup when you bought your '03?

Hi Eric, I've lived in Northern Cal all my life except for the last 4 years. I actually could afford a home in Southern Cal. Here, I think you have to be a decendent of royalty to buy a condo on the peninsula.

$1,500, but I got 'em to drop it to $1,300 after I complained. I was happy with the transaction as a whole and my MA was the most awesome person I've EVER dealt with regarding car shopping, so I'm not BITTER ABOUT IT!!

I don't mean to threadjack here, but the OP might be interested in your answer to this too, so I'll ask anyway. Do you have your servicing done at Niello? If so, what do you think of their service deparment? Do they provide a loaner car when your MINI is in for service?

I have had almost all of my service/repair work done at Niello. I've had pretty good experience with them generally, although I have at times felt that they have blinders on when it comes to fixing problems. Felt like they fixed the symptom, rather than doing some investigation and fixing the problem. I've never had any real hassles with the service department in general, though. One of the SAs, Chris, (and one of the BMW SA's too) is also a member of our club, so he's a MINI enthusiast as well.

I've also had my car at MINI of Mt. View a few times - they installed my JCW tuning and suspension stuff. Great experiences with them, too. The last time I had my car in there, I had a laundry list of service/checks/fixes/mods. The car was there for a week (as planned) and everything was done and/or checked out as requested.

I've recently been taking my car to an independent BMW/MINI shop, since I've been adding some aftermarket stuff to my car (Niello won't do ANY aftermarket work). Jury's still out on that one.

MINI of Mountain View sells MSRP. I heard that they didn't used to. My MA said that all Bay Area MINI dealers are now MSRP with the exception of San Francisco.

I had a good experience ordering my MINI there last month. Mike is my MA, but they take a team approach and all the guys I've spoken to are cool and don't seem at all bothered with my frequent calls for status.

very bad experience with that dealership (service, not purchase). I would avoid them at all costs.
