Just traded my 2002 S for a 2005 Cabrio. Loving it.

One think I really liked is the euro parcel tray. I figured I would just pick up another and install on the new one. DOH!

I REALLY would like to find one, anyone out there know where to snag one at?

mini mania seems rather pricey

 

$169 not even including the rubber mat that goes with it. I believe it is a necessary upgrade but at double the price it used to be gives one pause.

Gone are the days when you could pick up one of these handy dandy items for $70 or so. (I just missed out on the old price. Still kicking myself over it.)

BTW The parcel tray from MossMINI came with a rubber mat.

 

These are definitely a great addon ... Would someone please inform a n00b, what happened to cause them to be more expensive and hard to find?

 

Supply and demand... I "heard" that the shelf does not meet U.S. safety standards that is why it does not come standard on U.S. cars. Also it might have something to do with the new body style and it's not being made anymore?

 

Like minianni says, they don't meet US standards. I believe what happened is MINI USA finally realized they were supplying a part that did not meet US safety standards. So they refuse to import that part anymore.

Moss & Mini Mania import them themselves & jack the price, because they can now get away with it. That being said I'd pay their price to have one. I love mine.
