Broken in!

Just came home from a 1200km run through the Rockies that put me over the break in period. The MCS was nothing but fun! Mileage improved from mid 30's to 40.6 MPG Imperial. That was driving as close to the break in limits as possible. Of course no laws were broken

Concerns. You have to be paying attention if you accelerate hard to change lanes and pass. The torque steer is fierce. The cruise control drops out after a while, not a good thing in traffic....I'll be talking to the service folks on the 12th when my rear bike rack is installed.

Overall this car is just what I thought. Great acceleration, fantastic handling and all mod cons. Not much I would change, but the openable 'secret' compartment does rattle.

Yep, driving along with the cruise control on and suddenly decelerating because the right foot isn't on the accelerator. Pushing the resume buton brings it back, but like I said not a good thing in traffic!

As far as I can troubleshoot, it has to do with coasting downhill to above the set speed then the cc trying to re-accelerate when the speed falls below what is set, it turns off.

There were some previous posts about the CC "dropping off" problem. I think there was a software fix for it.... do a search...

Rolled over the 1200 miles mark yesterday. We were pretty selective on break in roads. Lots of starts and stops, rolling terrian, plenty of twisties. Figured that would make for sufficient throttle/brake/clutch movement.

Now, fetch me that horizon!

Wheeew, for some reason I read the thread title as someone broke into your car. Glad it's better news!

Yes, there is a service bulletin about the cruise control--it's a simple reprogramming fix.

(I have the distinction of being the first person to report the problem!)
