Now that was a true upgrade for you! Really, I love GM V8's but that GTO...

Thanks for the warm welcome and invite! I'm still heavily involved with my F-body club (TransAm) and am an administrator for the Midwest F-Body Association (www.MFBA.org). But I hope to have some time for appreciating the Cooper at some events as well.

Welcome Dan, one of the best ways to enjoy your new MINI would be on this drive, https://www.northamericanmotoring.co...ad.php?t=93178 July 7th.
If was did own a GM it would be an F-body too.
Later Dustin

Probably can't do the Mad Dog event on this short notice... :(
BTW, our club rents Road America twice per year, and there's usually a Mini or two out there with us. I'll be sure to post the info for our October event.

LOL, the GTO is far from "dead"... But yes it's at Bill Jacobs in Naperville sitting out front. If anyone is interested in it, let me know and I can give you some history on the car. They've got it on their site listed for $19950, which gives them PLENTY of room to lower the price for someone looking to buy it.
Dan00Hawk-- Far from dead, but the S will out handle that GTO any day of the week. I had a stroked 383 Z28 that I sold to get my MINI, and I don't regret it at all. Especially the attention I use to get from the local law enforcement agency!!! I feel so stealth mode -- and I probably drive harder in the MINI. Best of Luck with the S.

Oh, I agree with you completely about the handling. The way you had worded it, made it seem like I had worn the GTO out and it was "dead"... LOL
I'm loving the Cooper and how nimble and precise I can be with it. And I've still got an LS1 in the garage for when I want a straightline speed fix.
wecome Dan!
Good to have another V8 fan on board. I have a modded mustang. While the Mini is fun, it will never (at least at my power levels) leave the two black stripes behind the car the way the Mustang does!
