Interior/Exterior Fitting Vented Fenders
Fitting Vented Fenders
Started in on the fitting and painting of some vented fenders. Very happy that they fit quite well out of the box. Very minor trimming was required. Took no more then 45 min to get both sides fitted with the timming needed. No interference from the washer bottles. For appearence we are going to give the washer bottles a quick shot of black paint since they peek ever so slightly through the vents.
In these pictures the fender is just hanging in place, hence some of the gaps.

OK buddy, when and were did you get the side mirrors??? Did you get me a set
. Did I say what a great guy you are.
Once the fenders are done you need to get some photos up of the whole car. It's just awesome.

OOoooohhhh, my vented fenders have been lying around for months now!!!
I'm waiting to have them fitted before painting them - are you going to leave the mesh silver or have them painted bodycolour? Also, I see you've jacked the car up and taken the wheel off - is that necessary as on www.racers.jp the fitting is shown with the wheel on but turned to the side?
OOhhhh, majorly jealous and frustrated now

Just bringing this back abit as I tried to fit the fenders today and then gave up after about 10mins as I couldn't see how to remove the arch trims
.
Gnatster, you couldn't be so kind to post a few step-by-step instructions on installing them could you?
Thanks

It's very simple....
1. Buy Fenders
2. Drop off to shop
3. Stop by shop every now and again to take a few pictures and visit Mini
4. Write check, or for you in the UK, write cheque.
5. Drive off to the sunset....
Sorry could not resist. I am a self admitited mechanical nincompoop. I once had extra parts from an oil change. I understand the concepts, I have a manual, even a few tools. But I get no joy and am 10 thumbs when it comes to working on a car. I can change tires, after that I am lost.

Ohh almost forgot, I have new pics from multiple angles.
We are almost complete, just waiting for a few dry days to add the textured matte black paint to the vent area.

BTW, I have a spare set of these for sale.

Your car's looking great Gnatster! The front brake ducts look **hot** ....or is that cool?
Are you going to be doing your fender vents in that same finish or are you going for a matte finish. My favorite part of your car is still your super-custom guage pods though.

Handling is incredible, with Hankook Z212's was able to pull 1.22G's cornering according to the G2X. I wonder how much miore it will have with sticky track tires.
I like the look Gnatster! Im looking at similar set of fenders for my 06 space blue. I also have the hankook tires and Im going to Limerock in Conn. for the first time on Aug 27th. Wondering how well i will do, was that 1.22 G's with a modified suspension? I have H&R coilovers, endlinks all around and lower control arms, TSW rotors and hawk pads. and at this point i feel like the car could turn on a dime.
on a side note how do i post a pic in a thread full size like yours? every time i attach a pic it turns it into a thumbnail in the thread.
