How to see the green light when Mini is first at the intersection?

I'm sure I'm not the only person who has this problem - when my car is the first in line at a stop light, I have to bend my head down to see when the light changes.

Can anyone suggest any windshield lenses or gadgets that you've found useful for this? Thanks!

I saw a link to this in another thread recently, I'm seriously considering getting one for both my wife's 05 MCSa and my 07 that should arrive in a month or so.

Does anyone know if this product will be in the way of the auto rain sensor that is behind the rear-view mirror?

How about not pulling up so close to the intersection?
I know the roof line of the MINI makes it harder than some other vehicles, but I just learned to stop a little farther back. Problem solved. And it's free!

Doesn't get in the way. You put to left of center and the shipping is the same for 2 as 1. Like 12 bucks each...

If something would help you super, but in 5 years of driving MINIs this has never been an issue for me personally.

I just wave the first car behind me to come up to the pole position.

Appreciate the suggestions, I'll try one of those lenses!

Unlike the massive intersections around Houston, the area where I live is mostly small, 2-lane intersections, so stopping 20 feet back from the line wouldn't really work for me...

Really? How does the number of lanes matter?
I take all backroads to work, one lane each direction for some of it, residential neiborhoods, from ritzy to ghet-toe, and never had a problem.
I know you want to get one of those mirror things which is cool, I'm just curious.

This is the best thing since the MINI itself!

If you're shorter you'd be jacking up the seat to compensate, anyway...

I've had the occasional problem with not being able to see the traffic light, and I've determined that, at least at certain intersections, I would need to stop quite a few car lengths shy of the intersection to keep the traffic light in view. Slightly impractical, in my opinion.

Pull up far enough that you can look through the sunroof.

www.lightinsight.com is the ONLY thing you'll ever need to see stop lights without getting a permanent kink in your neck! It is so nice because you can make it fit anywhere and you won't have to worry about your sensors.

I have to agree with you d2mini. On my first test-drive, the MC I was in had the seat height adjusted too high. I bumped it down a few notches, and while it helped, the lights were still too high up. So I simply stopped about 5-10 ft back of the white line. Problem solved, and it didn't cost me a dime.

Been using lightinsight for a couple of months. It's great. Around here, if you stop 10 feet behind the line, someone will pull in in front of you. Come on, it's 12 bucks! Sticks on by suction and can be pulled right off. It's small and out of your normal line of sight.

Someone would pull out of line from behind you to pull in front of you?
Yeesh, even in Houston they wouldn't do that. They'd probably get shot if they did.

Yep. And give you the finger while doing it.
