4th of July Fireworks Meet Up.

Lets meet up for the 4th of July FIREWORKS. Up I-65 at Oxmoor Road exit. We can all park the MINIs in the front of Kmart parking lot right off of the exit there on the corner of Oxmoor Road and Greensprings Hwy.
Give us a time to chat then watch the fireworks. Meet around 6:30 then the fireworks start at 9:00.
What ya think?

I'm in. It combines two things I like, fireWORKS, and meeting up with MINI folks.

Besideswhich, your MINI has "works" in the pedigree.
Never seen the show from the Homewood side. Sounds like fun.

Last year we were up a little from that, and was not that good, so we moved down to the Kmart Parkinglot, and the view was really good.

I go to the base of Vulcan Park - used to go to Aldridges park lot; now go to the Walgreens at that site. The only down side is that you have to get there early - 6:30-7. Great view though. People watching can be a hoot too.

Went by Big K or Kmarts lot last ntie and there was some construction going on. So I not sure if you all want to meet in Homewood in front of Savages Bakery or still try to watch it from Kmarts lot. Either way I will be there, just let me know if you all want to change the location. I will try to leave around 6 or 6:30. I wonder if the walkie talkie channel 7/21 will reach enough for us to use? Its not that far from either location.

Well I have decided that I am going to my cousin's house to watch the fireworks. If anybody wants to come with me you are welcome to just send me a PM or email & we can arrange to meet somewhere & head over there. She lives high up off Clairmont Avenue & has a big deck with a great view of the city. I am going over there around 6-6:30

Sorry did not get back from the lake in time for fireWORKS. Funny how sitting on the water can wear you butt out. I just wanted to sit down on something that was not floating.

OK next year mark your calendar guys & plan on coming over to Clairmont Avenue. I was mistaken, at my cousins house we walked out front to watch the fireworks (not on their back deck) but we had a great view. There were a zillion parking spots open on their street so next year you guys need to head over there. No need to get there 2-1/2 hours early. We walked out at 8:45 & I moved the vert right beside us, put the top down & blared the radio. We had a nice view with my killer music while we waited & the 99.5 musak during the fireworks.

There were lots of smiley face fireworks this year

Homewod was GREAT! I had no Idea they shut down Main Street in Homewood and had a Carnival with things to do for the kids and food stands from almost any caterer in B'ham. After walking around The not so CURVE in Homewood and seeing all the laughing and smilling folks, we went back to the car parked in the SoHo Parking lot, the same lot we parked in when we went to Dave's Pizza, and pulled out chairs and we sat right under one of the best fireworks show I have seen in B'ham in a long time. We'll go back there every year now, since it was a BLAST!
