Ouch, glad your okay. Which seats are those? The side bolsters look deeper than the Std. Sport seat in that pic.

Sorry to hear about your accident and hope that you are alright. It looks like you are already looking on the bright side of things by having an '07 on order already, and another advantage, if you still have your '02, you can part it out!!!
Heck, I would take your tail lights off you for a pre-arranged price.

You realize you were driving without a wheel on it right. Could be what caused the accident :-P

Just kidding, glad to see you are OK. I don't have my MINI yet but I have seen a few get totalled and the occupants have been ok with only minor injuries, speaks well for the car.

Wow, glad you were okay. Yes, please give details of the accident so we can better understand how well our Mini's can protect us.

It looks like you got hit on both sides-or squeezed between something, glad to hear your OK-looks like the passenger area (the main box where you sit) stayed pretty square and stable protecting the occupants.

The side decals from the fire truck reflecting on the bonnet look almost like a bonnet stripe.

Wow, glad to hear that you are ok. It must have been quite an impact since it started to fold the roof over the passenger door.

Just another thought that I had. Since you stated that the MINI saved your life, and you promptly ordered a new one you should send a letter to MINI thanking the engineers and the workers for designing and assembling such an outstanding automobile. Send a copy of the photo and let them know that your order is placed for a new one,, and even give them a build number.

The behind the scenes people that make products what they are love to hear and see how their hard work pays off.

I'm guessing from the damage/location to the windshield that both front seat occupants were NOT wearing seatbelts?! Is this correct?!

Just the standard 02 seats, nothing special.

I was going north on a 55 mph road and a Land Rover was coming South. The LandRover suddenly saw his left turn I think and just turned in front of me, I had enough time to twitch the wheel so It wasn't quite head on, but I ended up on the other side of the road facing the oposite direction I had been going. The Land Rover was totaled too! It was quite High speed, I think I got to the breaks but there was not much time as he suddenly shot to his left.

The Passenger and driver airbags went off, no side airbags. The rest of the stuff that is supposed to happen happend too, blinkers on, door unlocked etc. (actually you can see the driver's air bag just poking out the wheel, but they had deflated by the time I got round to taking photos.)

Well there was only me and I did have my seatbelt on, I always do. Im not sure if the windshield damage is from the crushing, or if I hit the Land Rovers wing mirror there.

Another testimant of the MINI's grest handling- it does look like you were able to turn enough to make it a glancing impact rather than off-center head on which is often the worst-and fatal

Good reaction and driving on your part.

Sounds like your MINI did its job and kept you safe...I am sorry for the loss but from the sounds of it, things are going to be looking up soon with your 07!

Glad to hear you are okay.
I added your picture to my wrecked MINI collection. So I guess the Land Rover driver was colorblind? And is the '07 CR?

I thought about getting another CR, however I decided that I didn't want to feel that the new one was a replacement all the time. I wanted it to be it's own car. So I went for Mellow yellow/Black. "

Yellow is a good safety color.

I forgot to ask, was the LR driver on the phone getting directions?
