I just cannot get enough of my MINI. Today I was behind two on the Palisades Parkway in NY/NJ... One was a 2007 Cooper and the other was a 2006 S. We all waved at each other. The joy amongst we MINI onwers never ends. End of my gushing. For now.
Here's my '05 with almost 49,000 miles on it... I'm still in love.

Motoring with other MINIs is one way to make my day. Whether I know the fellow motorer personally or not, there doesn't seem to be any "strangers" behind the wheels of MINIs.
Note: I said there are no "strangers", which doesn't mean that I don't find some of them strange.

ive had this bizarre problem with not seeing any minis. I swear i used to see them all the time and now that im looking even harder, they are nowhere to be found and im dying for a mini motorcade of some sort.
Is this like "a watched pot never boils"?

^ this is a known phenomenon -- i find that I see a lot more MINIs when I'm driving the other car than when I drive the MINI. I've also gotten funny looks when I start to wave while driving the non-MINI before I catch myself . . . people are probably wondering who the MINI-poser in the BMW is.
^^ that is so definetely true, i take my dads car, see four or five MINIs, take mine and i see maybe one, but i saw a hot orange cooper cabrio right by astoria blvd on yesterday, she was nice, waved n all
When I see another Mini on the road up ahead I have this huge urge to catch up with it and chase it. Anybody ever done that?

OK. Now I don't feel like a stalker!
A PW R56 Cooper was a car ahead of me the other evening. Turned right (so I did!) and I "sort of" followed.
Just wanted to get a closer look. Have seen more Ss than Coopers here in PHX. And I just love Pepper White. "It" turned off before I could really catch up and WAVE (of course)!
Wish I saw more MINIs. There only a few where I live. I wave, and most of them just look at me like I am crazy or something. I talked to the boyfriend of one of the Cooper owners. He told me she doesnt really care about the car, has never washed it or anything, he said it was a shame, and I agreed. She is one of the ones that just looks at me frantically waving. If I see one, I will follow (always have to get a better look). My husband, in his truck, followed one the other day. The guy stopped, wanted to know why he was following. Anyway, as friendly as my husband is, an hour later he drove off, with his new "mini buddy" waving. Im not quite that enthusiastic, but I still wave and flash my lights at the ones I see. Still wish there were more here though. I feel kind of isolated, and jealous of the clubs in the other areas.
Oh well, maybe one day.

I'll keep an eye our for you. SPUD has his nametag on.
I've went 5miles out of my way because the traffic was too heavy to catch it right away, as soon as the traffic cleared I caught it, waved, turned around and went home.
The wave is especially nice at times, like this morning, when the 2 cabrios pass each other (tops down, of course) . . . it's amazing that even a commute to work can make for happy motoring
MINI motoring is all about a feeling, a vibe....and that's what motorers exchange through the wave...a recognition of a certain shared quality of life that comes from MINI ownership. It is a vibe unique to MINI's, too, encompassing all one might find in a car enthusiast but with added mega-doses of pure fun. That's why we are so utterly cool.

I see lots and lots of people out there that seem to just be driving their MINIs as yet another "appliance"... they never wave back. At best they're oblivious and at worst they give you this "who the hell are YOU?" look.
But I still get enough waves back that I keep trying. It's nothing like when I rode a motorcycle, but I never waved at ANYONE when I drove a Mazda.

And I got a wave from a motorcycle the other day (I was the only car on the road).

Most MINI owners i bump into seem to be really cool too. They are always sticking their hands out the windows, flashing their lights, or honking horns. Once and a while ill get a goon or a sour puss who doesnt want to wave or honk horns. But for the most part all cooper owners are so cool its great.
There is a MINI that I pass almost every morning ...I assume we are both on our way to work. Every day I would wave and I would never get a wave back.
So, I decided not to wave anymore ...and now they wave.
Go figure.
