I was 3 or 4 cars behind the camera car - and it FELT just like the video... fast... and hypnotic... and wikked kool... most fun thing I've EVER done...

Dont worry about rooms in the area yet, they were booked up for this next dragon even before this last one was over. But they say they have alot of cancels as we get closer near the date and stuff opens up

 

You really do HAVE to go. Last year was my 1st, and it was everything I expected and more.

 

1) Yep, rooms will open up at Fontana. Probably. Get on the wait list.
2) Rooms will also open at Tapoco Lodge. I was 30 deep on the wait list there and amazingly they called with a room a couple of weeks before.
3) There are LOTS of private rental cabins available in the area. You have to get the travel kit from Graham Country, NC and start calling around early in 2008 for availability - that's what we did and we found a great cabin down the road from Fontana.

No worries. You'll find a place if you're diligent.
