Sunroof(?) and specs. Ideas?

I placed my order with Mini of Concord, CA on Wednesday. This is my configuration for the Chili Pepper mobile.
Sunroof or not. To be sunny or not to be, that is the question. Is the "sunscreen" effective? Don't really like the sun on my head all the time. The dealer says it adds so much to the resale value (as if I'm thinkin that right now).
I have until Saturday to add it in. For what it's worth, I'm 6' 2" tall.
The roof is set to be white but what's it look like with a sunroof?
Any ideas?
Thanks,
oolcorral.

I personally love my sunroof. Its great with both front windows open and the sunroof open. A lot of airflow on a hot day. And, the sunscreen does do a lot for as simple as it is.

What do you mean by is the sunroof effective? Personally, I love it. I love the mesh screen too, BUT, it does not block out the sun (although it cuts it down) and it can get quite toasty in the car at times.

The sunroof, on tip-up position, is a great way to vent built-up heat and make the A/C more effective, sooner. If the number of rays coming in gets to be a bother, you can always get the roof panels tinted darker.
I've had the sunroof on all 3 of my MINIs, and wouldn't have it any other way.

I have an appojntment at the tint place. Getting limo tint on the roof and 20 on the windows. I agree about the dual vent position. Use it all the time to help cool down the interior.

Another option is to cover your sunroof glass with white vinyl. You can pick up a sheet of it very cheap at any local sign shop. I covered mine for about $15. So I have the best of both worlds: a completly white roof and less glare from the sun.

Good option if you want a white roof and to block the sun from coming in.

hey, im in Sacramento and I know how hot it can really get in CA. Im personally 6'2" and on my mini I have the sunroof. The sun dosnt bother me with the sunscreen on, but with the sunroof totally back and the screen still there it makes a annoying noise when moving at high-semi high speeds. As for the color with the white top your getting, I totally think its worth it.. I have aways liked the combo of colors... But do whatever you want.

My grandson loves looking out of the sunroof, but it gets very hot on the leather seats while parked at the mall in the summertime.

Love my sunroof. I usually only use the shade when the sun is coming in right on top of me and it does help. I also use it if the roof is closed and am forced to park in the sun for a long period of time. Seems to help keep the seats a little cooler.

The sunroof is mandatory for me-I use it all the time. The dual vent is great and I don't find it to be too hot, even in the high eighties/low nineties of this past week.

Okie - Dokie,
Thank you for all your great input. Sunroof wins and I called Mini of Concord to add the great sunroof in the deal.
Thanks again to everyone. No doubt it is the best way to go.
olcorral.
