Run Flat Dunlop & a big ol nail

Well it happened, driving home today the tire pressure sensor was triggered and this time it wasn’t a fluke. On arriving home, I noticed a big ol nail in my left rear tire. I pulled on the exposed end a little and could hear the air trying to escape - grr frustration.

So, tomorrow I intend on calling a few places to see if they repair run-flats. I honestly don’t expect that to be too promising. So this may be an excuse to ditch the run-flats and buy a set of those Falkens that are supposed to be fantastic.

I think the part that bugs me the most is that the current tires have less that 8k on them and it hurts to just dispose of them so frivolously. If I do go the route of replacement, is anyone local interested in 3 used Dunlop performance runflats?

can be repaired!

America's Tire Center will repair them if not on the sidewall. I got it done free since i got tires there. I'd replace them though...makes a huge difference in comfort!

Go to Les Schwab and they'll repair it for free. They do that to try to earn your future business. I too had a nail after just a few thousand miles and they fixed it without any issues.

Since the nail is right in the middle of the tread looks like ill be saving $$$ and just getting the tire fixed. Whew. The Azenzi's will have to wait for another day. Ill head over to Shwab's on Thursday when I have the time, I need to get tires for the wife car and will probably do that at the same time. In the meantime, I dont want to drive the car and dont want to commute on a mini-spare soooo.... for the next two days my commuter is a 2008 Eclipse. I think I miss my Mini already

I would say if you have a Les Schwab nearby that would be the place to go. Good luck with it

Les Schwab fixed it for free, their great service is what keeps me going back there. I just wish they had a better tire selection. What a dissapointment that new Eclipse was. You have to sit in it very low yet the car isnt nearly as low to the ground as the mini. The suspension is soft, there is no torque whatsoever (4 cyl). Horrible visibility, oversteer's and the only positive attribute to the car is its looks - the wife agrees. I am sooo happy to be driving my little car again.
