OK... so I know someone who knows someone who can book a date at the Las Vegas speedway or whatever it's called and me this someone and I had this idea to have a Mini Cooper day at the racetrack. There would be an entrance fee and we would each drive our own cars on the Indi style inner track (not the boring NASCAR oval... these cars were designed for cornering after all). It would be a timed race - each car leaving the start a few minutes apart and racing for time - so our lack of experience racing wouldn't raise the risk of colliding with other Minis. Also, there would be separate classes for S w/ works, stock S, and non S Minis. The entrance fee would cover trophies and a monetary prize and other ancillary items such as food and drink for the entrants, t-shirts etc. Also the option to buy video or photographs of you racing your Mini on a real track in a real competition.


So anyone interested !?! If enough people are, we'll start researching the possibilities and nailing down specifics. Right now we'd be shooting for late September or early October.
