New Mini in the fam!!!

Hey all...I'm new to this forum, and I've got a new Mini!

My family has had 3 minis in the last few years, and now I've bought an 07 Sidewalk Cabrio! Astro Black w/ the Malt Brown leather interior....I couldn't be happier!

I traded in my 06 BMW 330i...as much as I loved that car, the payment was dragging me down, so here was my solution! I cut my payment in half, and doubled the fun of driving!

Unfortunately, I took delivery during a time North Texas is getting tons of rain, so I haven't been able to drop the top yet. BUT, I did get the windows tinted, so it's all good...I can't roll them down for another day or two anyhow!

In any case, this photo is one I took before I even bought the car, and will post more once the weather is nice.

Glad to be a member of this forum...talk to you all soon.

One note...I plan on replacing the chrome grill with one of body color...what do you all think?

I wouldn't change the grill if it were my car. The chrome grill accents the special sidewalk wheels nicely and its not like there's too much chrome. Gorgeous car!

Great looking car! Welcome to NAM! I'd keep the chrome grille, but that's just me....

I could go either way on the grill -- my JB has a body color grill, but the chrome looks good also. If you do decide to change it, and want to save some money, you should look into simply applying some black-out tape to yours. Do a search on the Mods forum (interior/exterior) and I'm sure you'll find plenty on that.
Welcome to NAM and MINIs.

Well...it seems like the consensus so far is to keep the chrome grill...I totally see how it helps accent all the other chrome, but my view on it, is that a body colored grill will give it a bit more of an aggressive look and stance. I've always preferred the body color grill to chrome...(on other minis I've seen).

Thanks for all the welcome wishes!!! I've got 120 miles on it now, definitely getting a good start!

Not too sure about blackout tape...I'll do some searches to find examples, but I don't want it to look like I just put some tape on it. I was thinking of talking the dealer into just switching it out for me, see where that gets me.

Indeed it is Neil sold me the car, and was awesome...very cool, very accomodating, and just an all around good guy. When I first spotted the car, and left the dealership I said to my girlfriend, "I would totally buy a car from him."

And don't you worry...more pics to come once the rain lets up and I can give her a bath and find a good place to take them!

Very nice looking car - I love those seats. I could go either way on the grill as well. I think the aero grill would look very cool on the sidewalk, and give it a bit more of an aggressive look. I don't know how the AG would work with the chrome mirror caps, but you could always try it and see.
