Got my new Palo Uber carbon scoop today ,and love it!!

Just recieved my new "carbon" Uber front scoop and it looks awsome.Over all its not quite as big as the origonal Uber scoop and I personaly prefer the new look. It still shows an agresive appearance but doesn't dominate the hood. It works great with my JCW mirror covers and boot handle. I also like the fact its nice and light in weight.
So, although alot of you have had mixed views on this new scoop and the original which I quite understand alot comes down to personal taste issues . I, on the other hand, think it adds real presence to the front of the car and is worth every penny/cent it cost, it was well worth the wait.

Glad you finally got it!

Yeah it looks pretty burly. I just keep thinking as I drive that my car is sucking up so much air with that thing....I could be wrong, but it looks damn good.

Enjoy!

Congrats on spending too much money for a hood scoop with absolutely NO data to back up the outlandish claims!

It appears he is pretty happy with his purchase and not hung up about claims and related data.

The thing looks pretty dam cool and by the looks of the design ...a major jump over the stock scoop. And at the current price ...in CF and being available, I may just add one to my MCS.

Nice scoop Foxworth

One of my local members just dropped a Mini-Madness Stage 4 Kit in their 05' MCS and opted for the PU CF Scoop.

He also added the IC Temp Monitor and has a little info. that I'll try to post later once I can get it out of him again. I will say that he noticed a diff. with the PU Scoop.

Now, now... let's not start THAT unplesentness all over again. I'll be interested in seeing the actual coooling numbers though - as far as I know I've never seen any hard data.

You know, I understand why people bash Palo Uber, I really do, but I do not think this thread is the place to do it.

looks kinda mail slot'ish like the last PU scoop. Is this one pretty much the same just out of CF or at least fiberglass with a layer of CF?

The original picture made it seem more like the m7 ram air scoop.

It better not be layered fiberglass and carbon However I think that would be too hard to do and too much monkey'n around to justify any savings in carbon mat. . I think any scoop installed on the bonnet is limited by the opening in the bonnet. ( What we could do is zip off a big piece of bonnet ,opening that area up then make a really big super scooper ) Now I'm wondering what I got myself into buying a Palo Uber item

Well there is this to take into consideration: https://www.northamericanmotoring.co...4&postcount=29

If they had trouble producing a fiberglass scoop without resorting to bondo (a bad filler agent to choose in the first place), i will be interested in hearing the answer to minimusprime's question.

Actually it's pretty darn easy to make the scoop from generic chopped firberglass shot into a mold then lay a CF mat over it to finish. In fact it's very common method of producing parts.
