Drivetrain Turbo back exhaust...
Turbo back exhaust...
Hey there. I'am new here, and live in denmark. I drive an new 207 GT Turbo with has the same engine as the r56. The 207 has only 150bhp. If i fit an turbo back exhaust, will the ecu then go in safe mode, or will it work just fine like the oem system? Have you seen the dump valve from forge motorsport?

Welcome aboard and if you check out Ryan's 3" turbo-back post you'll see/read that he's had NO problems with that. I too did an exhaust too, but only a flexpipe back w/o a problem
BTW, can you post a pic of your ride?!

What do you think of the dump valve from Forge?

Everytime I remove my feet from the gas pedal, I hear the pssst noise coming from the valve. Sometimes it's boring but most of the times I enjoy hearing it.
I say full steam ahead with a turbo-back exhaust. I'd also look into logging the boost pressures, as I'd bet your engine is running less boost than the MCS, and that's why the 206's engine is rated for less power.
As for the blow-off valve, save your money for mods that work. That vent-to-atmosphere BOV will only skew the MAF's readings and cause the car to spike rich every time you let off the throttle. There's no reason right now to believe the stock diverter valve isn't 100% acceptable. If you want to hear the "Psssshhh" then I'd recommend replacing the stock airbox with a cone-type filter bolted straight onto the MAF that some of us on the forum have been trying out.
Cheers,
Ryan

Here is a link so you can see the engine of an 207 GT with no MAF http://photos207.online.fr/2035.jpg I think i will go for a bigger intercooler, 2,5" or 3" turbo back exhaust, open filter, forge dump valve and a ECU flash, if they can break the code. Here they have done the ECU http://www.clemens-motorsport.de/207_turbo.htm

I believe the reason the 207 makes less power is that it does not have an intercooler. As far as I know that's the only difference between our engine and theirs.
