Pleasant Surprise

Thought I'd check on my 6/20 production date to find that I'm scheduled for completion 5/30. Cool! Time to order up some fun stuff: Rear sway, 17"s, front speakers, H&R's.

Now gotta get rid of my old ride sooner than expected.

What fun.

Mark

6/20 sounds like a plausible delivery date if build is 5/30.

Ah, the wait for a MINI. You, my friend, are about to witness space and time collide in a way that not even Einstein could have envisioned...and the line between fantasy, auphoria and utter madness blurred beyond recognition. Of course, at the other end is your MINI...........so bring it on!!!!!

Skuzzy,

Thanks for the wishful thinking. I'm up in the NW, so 6-8 wks more likely. OT warning: Done your front speakers yet?

gokartride,

I'm actually worried it'll happen too soon. You know how life suddenly drops you in a time-shift and a month disappears?

Dunt(tm) worry, the time will drag on forever,...even especially as you approach THE date. Sort of like approaching a black hole.

I will be working on the speakers this weekend.

Greater truth has never been written.

Been there, felt that.

It'll only take 4-6 weeks to get to the NorthWest and usually, no more than 5 and believe you me, time does grind to a halt. Ordering aftermarket stuff only makes it worse...nothing like looking at a beautiful box full of coilover goodness that WON'T...BE...INSTALLED FOR TWO MORE WEEKS!!!! AAAARGGGG!!!!

Here I stand. Waiting for the clock to move again. Waiting for the second hand to get to the next tick. The last tock felt like 2 days ago.
I have checked the battery. It seems ample.
I think they hired the most sadist IT guy they could find to update MiniUSA. He only works on Sunday nights, 9 to 9:30. I have read their site..including all the html code. That took a lot of time. 4 seconds passed.
ASKMINI only works Mon-Fri, with holidays off. They know tons of stuff, but they tell you they don't. The IT guy controls them. He is cruel.
I do not whine. I pout. Stamp my foot. Act sullen.
And dream.
When I can sleep.

ygblat,

I like having stuff/projects laying around the garage.

My wife, however, just rolls her eyes and asks if she'll be able to get her car in the garage anytime soon. Then asks which car is this stuff for?

4xaaa,

All things come to those who wait. They just don't say how the waiting sucks.

Well if there is a silver lining,..it gets worse before it gets better. Uh,..wait,..ok,..that is a silver lining if you are a masochist.

I remember not to long ago I was in the same stage as you are now. I dumped the source to MINIUSA and re-wrote it to show me what I wanted to see. Installed it on my local file server and stuffed a redirect in the router (my own custom built) to that code whenever I tried to access it.

Ahhh,..the things we do to get by in this crazy-gone-mad-world without our Mini.

I was in a very similar situation almost exactly one year ago!

Like running down the road in a Nightfire Red cardboard box with painted-on headlights going "vroom vroom"? Does that count as desperation?

Dunt(tm) worry about dennis,..we in the NFR support group have an intervention planned. I am just waiting on the return of my battery post clips before we go forward.
