Drivetrain 2002 MCS Stuck in Reverse!

2002 MCS Stuck in Reverse!
I backed out o my garage this morning and the gearshift will not come out of reverse!
It is stuck BIG TIME!
Not sure what to do at this point except get underneath and check things out with the cables or what?
Anyone exprience this before?
