Here's how bad I got MOTD fever: I'm actually having dreams about MOTD6 already.

Two nights ago I dreamed that we checked into our cabin (we luckily have a reservation) and the thing was like the size of the lobby of the Wilderness Lodge at Disney (yeah, like that's gonna happen)... I said "Oh God - we're gonna have like 200 people crashing in here..."

 

Fontana needs to get off their duffs and build more cabins!

 

Heck, they outta setup "temporary" cabins - or great big tents with floors and cot space and restroom trailers. Or pull in a bunch of FEMA-style trailers. Or something...

 

I hink there is a huge lot of FEMA trailers somewhere in Alabama. But all I want is a room. Please help.

Well, just remember that lots of folks end up releasing their reservations when stuff happens and they cannot attend MOTD. I think it's a little early to be worried about this...

 

There's an idea... find a huge lot where those FEMA trailers are parked, arrange 'em just right, and you have a driving course with it's own accomodations.

 

Maybe it would be a good idea to have a thread that is sort of a waiting list for people who are looking for rooms/cabins. One that is basically a list of Names and what they are looking for without argueing over what should or shouldn't have occurred in regards to Fontana's room policy.

 

We're on the waiting list for a 2 bedroom something....

 

I may just find an old Aztec with a tent.

 

People can get on Fontana's waitlist. And once on the list, periodic phone calls to check on their status is a good idea.

 

Well, I handed off my room last year due to family issues.......I am thinking sadly situations arise and people will need to unload rooms....

but we just bought a tear drop camper..

or if anyone has room at a cabin we can park our lil guy .. that would work too..
and because im a helper my husband is willing to do dishes to pay for a little yard space

I was there over MME and guess they HAVE redone some of the older ones. Lotsa construction going on there.

 

There IS camping at Fontana...down by the dam spillway.

 

Well i have my cabin 4 all the nights of MOTD 6. So far it is me and my friend Greg. as time gets closer and people don't mind sleeping on the floor or an air matress i will see what i can do.

 

I will most likely have extra rooms in one of my 2 three bedroom cabins. I'll post back here when I have better confirmation of what I know is available.

 

I'm on a waiting list at Fontana too. When I inquired about what # I was on the list, the lady said "It's a long list"... Sounds promising!!
Anyways, I'm up for camping too, if I have to go that route. I guess I should have asked about that... Oops. Will call back.

 

I gave up cabin 547 last week....

 

i called fontana and was told that i was #20, and i only got on the waiting list last month

 

We have a "rustic" 2 or 3 bedroom cabin. So I'm sure we'll have some space available but it's way too early to worry about that yet. All you roomless MINIacs get back with me in January or so.
