I couldn't take it anymore!

After a year and a half without my Mini Cooper S, I bought another tonight!
I had a Volvo S60R but it just wasn't the same. I had a smile ear to ear tonight driving home in my new-preowned S. It is like I am getting to know an old friend again. Only this time my friend is Chili Red, not Indi Blue.

So...after almost 2 years away from NAM, which pulley has been proven to be the most reliable (15-17-19)? How can I upgrade this Boost Stereo? (Used to have Harmon Kardon) and most importantly....where is the next meet in CT?

-Justin

Do research on the parts you want, as there are MANY different choices. The main pulleys are M7 and ALTA, but there are others as well. I personally have an M7 16%, because I wanted the reliability of the 15% but with a little more punch. It all depends on what you want, and what your needs are.

And grats on the MINI, but you should have gotten Indi Blue!!!!

Welcome back.
I feel that pain. I'm on my second week in a new Toyota Camry rental, waiting for my '06 JCW to be repaired after a severe rear ending. It may take another 2 weeks I call it the Mush-mobile. People who don't drive a fun car just can't understand how it changes things to always look forward to getting behind the wheel, no matter the reason or errand.

I don't want to venture away from the thread, but please tell us how your Mini held-up in the rear-ender....did the back seat get crushed at all? Curious how our cars do in a serious rear-ender as I have a young daughter I'd like to take for rides but have not thus far for fear of such an occurrence.

Thanks.

Congrats. I've only had a MINI for a little over a week, but had to drive a Honda Accord while the MINI was in for an installation. It was painful.

Perhaps you have an earlier model, but did you see this thread about the R56 that was struck by a druggy going 110 and then by a cop car in pursuit?

Welcome back! Color isn't as important as driving! My first choice probably wouldn't have been DarkSilver. I purchased a "pre-owned" MCS last june. I've grown to love the color. More than that, I can not imagine giving up my checkered '02. Yeah, okay, I AM possesed by my MINI! A friend of mine realized how much I LOVE the car and deceided he might want one too. I found one for him - an '04, blue with low miles at a decent price - I'm only a little jealous. But, I have Chekers! My daily driver is an '04 PT Cruiser Turbo. I call it my "pillow" car. Very comfortable - like riding on and driving a pillow. Not a great deal of fun, but, it is really easy to drive. Punch it and the turbo definetly has some power. And it looks good (I added a flamin' hood). It is not the car I CHOOSE to drive though! I love my MINI!

Thanks.
I was hit while stopped by a woman in a '77 Volvo 242 doing at least 35 mph. The rear end didn't have much damage, most of it was in the front, from being launched into the back of the SUV I'd stopped for. The entire crumple zone was shoved in a foot to a foot and a half, but because I was hit from behind, no air bags went off. It's about an 8-9k fix, taking about a month for parts and all. The MINI is very well built. I was shaken up, but otherwise not too much the worse for wear.

Polizei, Indi Blue is a great color, but that is exactly what I used to drive! I needed to feel like I wasn't buying my old car back again and starting fresh with a new (to me) Mini!

Congrats on the new car and welcome back!

I came from an S70R... a pretty well modded one at that (now the wife's car)... and the MINI is so much better for me, it's hard to put into words (but I don't think I have to, since you're back in the fold!).
