What is the plastic thingy in the glove box?

I have a 2006 MCS convertible. I think it was built in 9/05. Anyhow. What is the white little cover in the left of the glove box. Is that for the AUX input that wasn't installed and/or ipod integration unit?

The one plastic thingy that is in my glove box is the cool air vent. You can direct cool air into the glove box.

Or heated air, you can have your A/C and heat flow into your glove box as well as your cabin, to keep your food or drink warm or chilled on the way home from the carry out place

I just took another look in my glove box. To the left of the vent I have a rectangular black panel about 1/2" by 1.5". It looks like a blank switch panel. Is that what you are talking about? I would assume that the dealer could use it for an Aux Input. Is there a power top option for the convertibles? If so, maybe the switch would be in the glove box.

This is like a removable white plastic cover on the left side.

In the early 06 mcs convertibles they didn't give you a free AUX input I don't think. Looks like there is a snapoff little plastic cap rectangular in shape which may cover the place where you install the aux input or an ipod integrator. Can anyone confirm. I'm afraid I'll break the tab off if I pull on it.

It's for the aux input. See page 85 of the 2007 Convertible Owner's Manual. The iPod interface uses a different hole in the glovebox.

The plastic knock out that you speak of is for the Euro spec flashlight.

Way told me this when he installed my DICE unit. We popped it out and I drilled it for the cable.
