Missing Door Ellipse Trim

I just took delivery on my MY/W MC and there were a few problems with the interior. My car is base with the exception of sport seats, sunroof and (I had hoped) gotham grey interior. For some reason the grey interior didn't materialize and my car came with the standard black (which actually looks quite nice). The dealer gave me some money off, etc. so no problems there.

However, in this black interior the door ellipses are also black and made of the same pebbled material as the rest of the door panel, rather than the silver colored plastic that's across the dash. I'm curious if this is normal (it looks different from the online configurator) and if it is a mistake is it easily remedied?

I'm new to the mini community but love the car already!

Thanks for the help.

Are the ellipses a separate piece, or are you looking at the recess in the door panel where the ellipse would mount - you should post a picture.

The configurator is wrong

It is normal. The configurator is wrong.

Unless you choose an interior treatment (Fluid Silver, Brushed Alloy, Piano Black or English Oak), the MC's door elipses will be black.

If you want silver door elipses, you must opt for either the Fluid Silver or Brushed Alloy interior treatments.

Thanks! I'll stop worrying about it and won't complain to my MA.

That's absolutely 100% correct!
