License plate renewal
License plate renewal
Time for new plates. Last ones were mis-read all the time (said EXIRA K read EXTRA K). It made me crazy! Besides is MY nickname not the car. I could use help with spelling choices. I have a habit of naming things that people can't figure out or remember. I had to take a poll of my friends when I re-named my business. My initails are KK. In urban slang apparently it means OKAY! I called the DOT and these three are all available. CHECKRS is taken.
My current choices: CHEKERS CHEKKRS CHEQQRS
Any thoughts? Thanks!!
Thumbnail (because I can not for the life of me figure out how to post full size pics) to click on to see the car being named. My gallery has more shots too.

I think CHEQQRS is very unique and whimsical, but still should be easily understood.
I had the same posting pics frustration, check this out...

Great looking car!!! I vote forCHEKERS, but on the other hand CHEQQRS is neat also. One or the other would look great!!
The roof checks are smaller than others, was that done by a Graphic Co? They look very nice.

That's the other reason for the car now having its own name. I just need to fiqure out how to spell it.
Still looking for input. Thanks for the responses so far!

WHY 2K (a statement, not a question)
Depending on your descendency, why not CZECHER (or, if on an 8 letter state, CZECHERS)? CH2KRS?
I'm thinking the more standard "Checkers" name is perhaps a little up front. Perhaps "chess"?

I really appreciate everyone's input. Because I have made up the spelling and understand what it means I can not view the letters as anything but what is in my mind. What might someone read CHEQQRS as? Thanks again!!
Well I made the decision and sent in my request form. I'd called the DOT to be sure the spellings were available before making up my mind. The choices: first CHEKERS, second CHEQQRS, third CHEKKRS. Most folks (and my husband) preferred this order. I wasn't so positive, but, it would be good. I just received my reistation certificate and to my great surprize it is CHEQQRS! I guess you can make plans, but, you just never know. The good news it was actually my favorite.
Wow, I'm so happy you got it completely! I wanted the British influence plus the eye thing. Thanks for your post. When I actually get the plates (not just the registration certificate) on the car I'll post a pic.
I am totally on board with the "QQ", I think that's awesome! I just got a European registration plate that goes on the front (for states that don't require front license plates) "LUVNLIFE" and it is SO COOL! I got it with the checkered flag, because I have matching checkered flag floor mats and wing decals for the sides. Check 'em out: www.minicoopermats.com they've got some pretty cool stuff and I went a little crazy with it, but I LUV IT!

I like the "QQ" too, but......
I had a friend who had "GQQD-BY" as the plates on his Mustang GT. He wanted "OO" instead of "QQ" but that version was taken. The thing was, if you were more than 5ft away, it looked like it said "GOOD-BY". You couldn't tell it was a pair of Q's instead of O's and most people won't pay close enough attention to notice the difference between the letters. I can see you having a similar problem as the one you already have with people not getting what you are trying to say with your plates.
I'm not trying to be a spoil sport, I just remember the issues he had using Q's.

Go with the "K" spellings. Using the "QQ" won't be as immediately understood. Recall that "LQQK" is very prevelant in advertising, and people are used to seeing the "QQ" and reading it as "OO." It'll be read as "CHEOORS."
