MINI Slot Cars

Thanks! I did; and if I show them any closer, the ragged edges will be quite evident.
They're screwed into place from the bottom, and the track actually "rests" on them. The lacquer on the base is really slick, so it was pretty frustrating getting the cardboard support templates to hold the track as supports were sized and produced. The temporary struts would slide around and the whole thing would come crashing down, time and again.
Long term benefit is a spillproof base. Let's race!

Carrera go series. I painted it on top and bottom with gray latex, and added a 1/4˝ cork surround for the ground level portion.
That's not very advanced, I know. Bought the Cooper set and kept expanding the track so when I went to install it, I configured it to use every piece I had on hand. One good thing is you can race clockwise or counterclockwise.
The base is mounted to folding brackets, so "supposedly" the track could one day fold down perpendicular to the floor. Not that I'm going to try it anytime soon.

That's great - I didn't even pickup that those were the 1:43 scale cars.
Watch ebay for more track - you'll find that sometimes people buy the sets and only want the cars inside.
I've picked up 2 Carrera Go! sets so far. I want to build a layout on a board that I can place over my HO layout. The HO layout is 4x16' with a 4x4' section added on to one end in a "L" configuration.
The only problem is I keep getting 1:43 layouts with the loop-de-loop sections, which I really don't care for...

This puppy is siliconed / screwed down and all glued together! Expansion really isn't an option. But I'm glad you like it, and thanks for the suggestion.

Hello Gokartride,
I'm hoping you can tell me about two of the minis in the photo you opened this thread with (green #27 & red #15). I just got back into the hobby and picked up a Carrera Evolution 1/32 set today with some extra items thrown in and these two were included.
The two I have are in great condition. They're lighted and appear to be pretty quick compared to he other cars in the lot. Anything you could tell me about them would be appreciated. I'm not certain if I'm going to keep them at this point so I'm also curious what you think a fair value for them would be.
Thanks
Brian A

Check out ebay item #280450361074 - this is a very limited set. My local hobby shop still had one on the shelf last time I was there...

I got lucky I picked up both sets at the hobby shop for $39.95
Funny thing was they were giving them away at a local car show ..
I thought wow I'd love to win that .. They called the first three numbers I ran down to get it and saw another guy carrying it away .. They said "pick anything on the table" there was a $200+ Garmin GPS , so I picked that and walked over to the hobby shop and bought them
