Take him serious guys, I've met him
Rob - that train is fantastic My wife looked at me sideways when I walked in with the lunch box. If I came in with that it'd cost me a set of earings for sure BTW, Your box is ready to go out with tomorrow's mail
Bobbie, yours too

Plus 1 of the Siku 1:87 scale Polizei/Porsche/tow truck sets and 1 of a new find: Dickie Yellow cabriolet w/the "pull back" friction motor. The Dickie "feels" kind of cheap after working w/ the Marklin/Herpa and Schuco stuff (all plastic) but it's kind of cool..what I'd expect from a $5 toy from Toys R Us!

I seem to recall a thread awhile back where you were asking for any LY verts. Plus I've got to sneak the ones I picked up the other day into the house as it is She'll notice that yellow for sure, these muted dark colors are easier to hide

Me too! If you find one let me know...
As far as I can tell the Z scale (N scale?...whichever is 1:160) is the only one that had the train and "wagons" loaded w/ Herpa Minis as a set. The HO 1:87 "set" I've built up is the Marklin train plus a couple empty cars loaded w/ Shuco, Siku and Herpa 1:87 scale Minis...also used that 1:87 set w/ the polizei car and Porsche...found a couple more 1:87 models today including the Herpa Polizei Mini (still looking for the Fuerwehr) and a couple 1:87 Miatas that I'll add to the scene.
Bought some HO gauge track and some doors for the bookcases today...will start building a proper display soon!
Smokey: Did you build or buy those Italian Job framed movie scene displays w/ the cars? I can probably build something like that myself but don't know where to get teh screen shots... Movie posters? Do they have glass?

Rob, those are store bought shawdow boxes with glass fronts. I went to the IJ website and downloaded a few screen shots they had up. I few tweaks with PS and then bob's your uncle
The cars are held in place with a little Velcro, surplus military velcro at that, so they're rated to 100mph.
zap me an email at smokey4(at)roadfly.org and I'll send my files to you.
And yes folks I still have everything MINI stored on a 40 gig backup drive Lord, my wife is right...... I need help.
Here's an ad shot from around November of 02

Three Wal-Marts, 70 BOXES of Maisto Easter eggs, no MINIs.
This leads me to believe that one of two things has happened:
1) The boxes of Maisto eggs that came to Tampa Bay did not contain MINIs.
or
2) BobbieJ and Smokey are in Tampa Bay for the weekend.
Oh well, it was a nice evening to motor around town with the top down. One cool thing happened...I went by Ferman MINI to take a look at the 2007's. They have had a "history of the go-cart" poster in the showroom for awhile, and I have asked about it several times. I walked in and it was gone and I was bummed, thinking it had been thrown away. But then I asked the sales manager about it and he had saved it for me! I'll post a photo later.

Congrats on the poster! Glad they remembered and are watching out for you

Kinsmart Twins
Was at a local hobby shop (hadn't been since my FIRST collectibles purchase) and found a dusty, multi-car, 'New MINI Cooper' display box with these two there!
They're by Kinsmart (didn't know about them) and are 1/56. There was a B/W and BRG/W. $2 each!
I am AMAZED by the detail on such a small model. Check out the rear window defogger/heater!
Would have loved it if there were more. Nifty additions!

Nice find there Scooter I love hitting the Hobbie stores and the real flea markets (outside tables and great deals) I've gotten a lot of my rare ones there
Bobbie & Rob - I found a few of the Easter ones today and since I already have a box that will be going to Rob; do you want me to go ahead and put a few of my extras in?
