View of the cockpit. You could reverse the pieces to make it LH or RH drive. I went with UK plates so I did RHD. The parking brake and gear selector both move. The pieces they supplied really bring the instrument panel to life. I am also choosing to believe that the designers in Denmark were smart enough to make one of those instrument dials peaking through the steering wheel a temperature gauge: unlike the pencil pushers in Munich. [I am a little bitter about not having a temp gauge in my R56]
A view in.
Let's motor
ready for the zigs and zags
Grab a snack?
Little cheese wedges and a very detailed baguette.
Engine break down? No worries just pop the bonnet and change a brick.
Spare tire just in case you drive over a nail or something and the pesky TPMS wont turn off. Also thought it was pretty neat they used a small round piece to represent the petrol cap. LEGO store employees probably wont blame it being loose as the cause of your problems .
4 hours later. I'am guessing that plant oxford does a bit better.
I love the detail of the model, the spare, the engine, and you're right the seat details are awesome, and very well done.
I've been spending some time on brick link to find the appropriate black parts to make mine look more like my actual black MINI. But I think that's going to be a costly project.
Well I believe the announcement video mentioned that the wheel arches were used previously as windshields for some space sets. They ran a special production run in BRG for this set.
I think the announcement video that was on motoring file explained it better than I can.
I just built mine when my wife was out of town. Put it the other Mini models and she hasn't noticed it in 4 weeks. Took me 6 hours to put it together. Really nice model.
Amazon has them as well. I'd seriously consider buying one for my daughter, but $100 for a box of little plastic pieces just never appealed to me. I missed the Lego generation as a kid and have paid for it with the kids. Harry Potter lego, who would have thunk it?
Yep I saw someone post that up on IG. Too bad they did not release it for Christmas. I will be going to the lego store here soon, I have the classic one in the larger scale and the one in the small-scale Lego corporate gave me.
I have the big green Lego Mini, I will be buying this new set even though all I'm after is the little red rally Mini. I would prefer the rally Mini by itself.
Maybe at a corporate event for LEGO or Mini but not to the public. This is being launched along-side all their Jan 1 releases, including multiple Speed Champion sets, so this sin't like the big LEGO Creator Mini which was launched on its own with the mini-MINI as a giveaway. If a public giveaway were planned it would have leaked to the LEGO rumor mill already.
