Got the Carfun badge this week... Excuse the craptastic picture, it was taken with my phone.

Just curious, the badge isn't magnetic, but there is a ring of adhesive around it. Has anyone stuck a badge on like this? I've always planned on making this badge the only one that I put on the front grill, so I'm not concerned with it coming off, more like it not staying on.

Thanks!

You still need a grill badge holder to stick the badge onto. Don't stick it directly to your grill.

Thanks, I've only used the magnetic badges/holders. I would have just stuck it right on there!

Well the magnetic badge holder (the metal disc) is what you get from mini to stick the permanent grill badges on...

Sheesh, I sound so lame. I know what I mean in my head, I just assume everyone can follow along!

I have the dual magnetic badge holder that is attached to my back license plate, that's the only one I've ever used. I bought the holder that screws onto the front grill to put the metal Carfun badge on.

Thanks for all of your help.

I was surfing this thread, looking at the posts and saw the badge with the plug you were asking about, and maybe you have already found out what it says...but in case you haven't, I can tell you that I zoomed in on the pic and was able to decipher SOME of what it says... it seems to be a disclaimer of sorts, kind of like the "Don't place this bag over your head or you'll suffocate" thing on dry-cleaning bags... Obviously, this is a cheeky sort of disclaimer, tho -

Here's how it looks to me:

"WARNING: On your ?? plug any electrical device from this vehicle... injury, which ??? affect ability to charge...Company (?) is not liable for any injury that may occur."

It's a cool sticker. I may make one up...

I just purchased some round magnets and glued them on to the CarFun badge. I made sure that they were thick enough to stick out just beyond the badge itself. Now I can take it on and off whenever I want to.

I am part of a two MINI family, thus we have many duplicate badges, avoids arguments! I may have to purchase another refrigerator for the garage to hold all of the badges! I try to change badges each week or at least for each holiday.

Kikimowse, I like that idea! I wish I would have thought of it... But the carfun badge is the only metal badge I have, so I figure for now, I'm good.

Just curious, does anyone have a spare "Max Width" badge they'd be willing to sell? I'm a bit hesistant to order from Motorswag [unless there haven't been any shipping problems, I haven't ordered in a while].

I've attached the picture... Thanks in advance.

I asked a while ago if anyone had ordered from Motor Swag recently but no one said anything...

Got a question for everyone though, which vendor do you like more for you grill badges? Cooper Flags or Motoring Badges? My personal favorite is Cooper Flags. I just took one of my Motoring Badges badge off my car and it's warping and is getting bubbles in the vinyl and its only been on the car for a month. I haven't had any problems with my Cooper Flags badges yet....

I ordered last August from Motor Swag, the MINI Cooper PJ's and they never arrived. I attempted several times to contact them and never got a reply. I will never order from them again. There is a thread somewhere out here on NAM warning of the issues with them. Unfortunately I saw it too late. Beware.

MINIxB: I like Cooper Flags the best.... I had two of their UK series badges on my car for over 6 months, finally changed them out and they still look brand new. I just put a Motoring Badge on, it's been on for a couple of days and it's warping. Too bad, because they really have some good ones there.

Kiki: I think I just lucked out the one time I ordered from Motorswag, got my order right away and without a problem. They have a lot of good badges too, but I won't order them.

I have a new 3-dimensional grille badge that I love. It has a super-high-quality chrome trim ring, and really looks much more upscale and substantial than the old vinyl grille badges that have been out for years. It really dresses up my MINI nicely, and it withstands high speed driving, car washes, heavy rain and snow, etc. I got it at http://www.gobadges.com

Here are some pictures of it while I was displaying my car at a car show recently:

Any pics of your CarFun Badge on Lucy? Here's mine that I've now moved to the boot... Although these are my old plates - I now have the new gold ones.

Albiecrazy -- I do have pictures, I'll post them soon.

Just an FYI: Ordered from Motor Swag just for fun... Got an email from them 2 days later saying my order was going out in 24 hours. It's been a month and I haven't gotten my badge. Or a response from any of my 3 emails. I've since filed a claim through PayPal. And deleted their website from my favorites.

Guess you'll have to get another MINI for some extra grill space.

Ivygirl - didn't like the the clash between the new NY plates and the CarFun Badge - so it's now deleted.
