I bought my custom badges from Cooper Flags. Pricing was $9 each if I bought qty of 9 or $6 each if I bought qty of 18. One time setup charge of $15, and the shipping (for 18) was $8.

All told it was $131 for the first order of 18 badges ($7.28 each). For another order of 18 there wouldn't be a setup charge so it would be $116 ($6.44 each).

CooperFlags' quality is excellent!

Hey check this article out - I posted this in the "show us your decals" thread, too, but it applies to the badges I'm guessing... I really DO think they need to caveat the trend with, "except for MINI drivers...."

Seems like that was more for opinionated/political/religious stickers. Most of the MINI stuff I've seen were pretty tame.

I do have to admit, I was going to get a huge OBEY Giant roof graphic, but realized some truckers probably would see the word "OBEY" on such a little car as an instigation of attitude.

Don't get me started on truck drivers -- they certainly aren't the quality drivers nowadays that they used to be. They probably wouldn't even notice - they don't seem to pay attention as much as the old-school truckers.

ANYWAY...I thought the article was interesting. I took it to pertain to the attitude of those folks who adorn the cars, not necessarily with WHAT they decorate, yah know? Meaning those people who put stuff on their cars have more road rage attitude than the plain-jane appliance-drivers. Minipeople seem to have more spunk and a sense of humor, so I don't think it would apply so much to us....but that's just my biased opinion.

Yeah. Just when I think I'm done and I've seen them all, they come out with newer, cooler ones.

You'll need a badge holder, either on your front grill or your boot.

Here's a list of vendors:

BOOT:
Cooper Flags

GoMINIGo

FRONT PLATE (even the No Holes Mount):
GoMINIGo

FRONT GRILL:
OutMotoring - Pre-R56

Cravenspeed - Pre-R56

MINIUSA

It depends on your needs as far as the statement you want to make. I like the boot badge holders because it increases the chance of folks reading them at stop lights, etc. I've gotten a few smiles (I'm guessing) from my "I Am The Stig" badge located on the boot.

I have the CooperFlags holder and it's great quality. I have not tried the GoMINIGo holder, but I do have their No-Holes plate mount and it's high quality. I'm assuming their other produce is just as good.

I guess it all depends on where you park. I live/work in a pretty safe part of town. Plus, you have the benefit of ignorance on the part of most of the public. If they don't know it's magnetic (and removes easily), chances are, they'll leave it alone.

I have, on occasion in a bad part of town, pulled them off.

Also, you run the same risk with valve stem caps and driving light covers, except they're more expensive.

Fortunately, our favorite badge addict (DickDave) has given you all the vendors who ALSO offer multiple-badge discounts! If you buy 6 or 7 badges at a time, it's a lower cost.

I didn't like the rear badge holder from cooper flags -- not because of the quality, but because it doesn't fit my car. I'm still figuring that one out, so more to follow...

The badge I put on the front of the car has writing backwards - so folks can read it if they're in front of me. (I'm getting a decal like that for my sunroof too!! "<<< -- revo evom esaelp" It'll only be visible when I open the roof...) I have the majority of my magnetic ones on the boot - for behind-me drivers to read. It's fun to read their lips. I don't go to really bad areas, but like DickDavid said, most people don't realize they're magnetic. This doesn't stop me from taking a quick accountability check every time I get in, though!

And they ARE addicting.

Doh! Sorry, I was referring to the custom valve stem caps (with the Union Jack or MINI logo).

BTW, folks -
Sorry if I've become a post ***** on this thread. I don't know how it happened with me, but this is a topic that I totally get into. In no way am I an authority on this stuff, so please take my advice with that in mind. I just know what I know from being a badge owner.

We know. But it's fun to talk with "experienced badge owners." AHHAHAHAHAHAHAH!!!!

I think the magnetic backwards badge (says, "Slow Traffic, thgir evom" -- but this is different than the decal for the sunroof) I got from Out Motoring. It's a black badge w/ yellow & white lettering. It's in my gallery. It's not one of the really thick ones, though. If I figure out where I got it, i'll repost.
https://www.northamericanmotoring.co...hp/photo/69786

EDIT: I LIED! It was from http://www.motoringbadges.com/Badges3.html -- it's on pg3 about halfway down.

Believe it or not, I did slip away from the computer for a while to spend some time with the family.

That's an awesome deal! Now it's time to think of a good badge. Maybe:

dickdavid:badge *****

Or maybe something like: "I just stole this off an Astro Black MINI Cooper"

HA! Let's not promote badge stealing...

How about: DickDavid: GIMME YOUR BADGES!
or: Forget what they said, I NEED YOUR STINKIN' BADGES!
