Walnut Blasting in Indianapolis
Do any of you from the Indy area recommend someone (other than the dealer) that would be willing to do a walnut carbon blasting job on my 09 MCS? I'm willing to help out. Debating on doing the job myself at home but if someone around town already has the equipment, maybe it would be easier to just work out a side job.

Have you thought about making your own? I made mine when I had my 2007. Took some fine tuning, but once I had it, it worked like a charm.
I found this which is pretty detailed about building your own.

You might check with Way at Way Motor Works.....he’s located in Atlanta, but has lots of Indianapolis ties and might be able to refer someone to help.

It's really easy after you collect your needed tools and equipment. Keep in mind with what the dealer may charge for this service, buying the equipment turns out to be equivalent to one service at the dealer. I pulled the trigger and got the compressor and bav-auto's kit, altogether a very worthy investment. I've done two walnut blasts so far on my wife's mini and done the service with a cheap charge for a few VW golf gti's so far. There are a few N54 bimmer guys looking to arrange the service at my garage, too. It's really not that bad, and by doing it yourself, believe that your own work may yield better results than dealer douchebags' work. I've had them service my water pump and thermostat once, turns out the T-stat housing ended up being held only by two screws instead of three. Really pissed me off. I trust only myself now.

I’m in Indy and did carbon blasting on my valves, but that has been several years ago and I no longer have the equipment. If you are good with wrenching on your car, it’s not a terribly difficult process.
