I found crazy ideas from a excellent auto photographer Stéphane Foulon.

Has everyone seen automotivephoto.net?
Be advised: if you post a photo for critique, you'll get honest feedback from working pros. They're not rude about it, but there's not a lot of syrupy "great photo" backslapping.

ANyone else having their roads bump the batteries out of the camera? I've got the mount nice and stiff but one crappy strech of road (we have a 3 per mile minimum to meet so you know you're in Chicagoland without having to check a map) and the batt gets knocked out. Course my current photos have dead on sharpness Just nothig post worthy yet (but I keep trying to raise that bar)

I'm way behind in getting some photos added to this thead. I'm really happy with this one and is my best so far...
Photo is clickable to a very large version (535KB)
Used the filmtools suction grip on interior windshield just like Jimz68 has described previously. Paced this car while doing ~30-40mph.
1/10 s @ f/11, 32mm on FF sensor.

These are a few shots that I tried at MOTD5 with a 2pt mount attached across the rear seat headrest posts. It was pretty steady considering it was supporting the weight of a Canon 20D & lens for ~.25 seconds shutter. I want to build a 1pt headrest mount and move the camera up to the front seat to capture less of the interior, but I think I'll lose some of the stability in the process.
After the fact, I wish I didn't have the can of Coke in the cup holder, but it seemed pretty necessary at the time .

Konky, was this taken from a chase vehicle?
Thanks thebillsman. Basic color theory and harmony (learn the rules, then break 'em ) as a 50/50 mix of red/green is naturally pleasing to the eye. Helps when the red is of a nice looking Mini.
MOE4me, you may want to take a look in the previous posts here on the Filmtools mount to the interior windshield as those are pretty stable. Take a look at my sig photo or in my gallery for going the opposite direction, very wide, with a similiar camera mount to what you used.
So far the most stable setup I've found for use inside the car however was with a tripod that has a hook on the bottom of the center post which was cinched down on something. I've got some more experimenting to try...
