My First Ever SLR Photos

I took my first photos using an SLR this morning. The first is just a bird taken in auto mode. I was playing with the light and exposures in the second and third. I'm having a lot of fun with this camera (Canon 30D) and look forward to learning how to use it!

Looks good. I love the one with the waves. Play with the levels in photoshop.

Definitely like that last one also!
That one at the Huntington Beach Pier is pretty cool too.

Hope to run into you at Belmont Shore Car Show tomorrow.

Learn photography before you learn Photoshop (I'm sorry, "post processing.") Pay attention to the meters on your camera. Read the user manual twice through.

I didn't think the 30D had an "auto" mode. I thought it was geared to a more pro level than amateur.

Tip: Unless you've got pretty steady hands it's safe to say you probably can't hand hold any shot with a shutter speed below 1/60 of a second without blurring it. There are other factors that apply, as well.

Keep shooting. Most of all, though, learn.
