Fun with a cardboard box and tissue paper
I built a light box this weekend based on Baltimore Sun photog David Hobby's Strobist blog and tried it out. For the cost of a cardboard box and some tissue paper, you can make a macro studio that allows you near-total control of the light on the subject. You can light the box with remote flashes, or you can use ambient light.
Here are some of the better results.

Thank you very much for the link and info on this site for the outstanding DIY macro light box. I finally got a chance to read through the two light box articles and I'm just positively floored. Going to Home Despair for photo studio materials for less than $6!
Great stuff!
Great stuff!
What's with the large copyright symbol? The pictures look pretty cool, but I can hardly notice them without being distracted by the big C.
Anyways...cool article! Thanks for sharing.
