Feedback, advice, tips and constructive criticism appreciated

 

Hmm, mental note, must wash and detail my Mini as Motor On's Mini is much to clean and reflective and is making me look real bad!

Love the fire on #2. The continuous flow from the sky onto all the Mini's shiny bits is fantastic (1-3). The spoiler lines in #3 are really nice, but I personally would like it a bit more off center; that's about a nit-picky as I could get since you were also looking for suggestions. The flow of the clouds on #7 is very pleasing and shows off the Mini's bonnet curves well.

Not sure if you took these on Monday night; if so, this is what it looked like then ~35k ft. above the Chicago area to give you a different perspective. Amazing clouds that day. Hey, is that a Mini on the wing??? (psych!)

Anyone else have some Mini reflection photos to share to take this tread in the same vein as Kurt's hijacked sunset thread?

 

Another eventful evening. I arrived home as my son was bringing the steaks in off the barbeque . . . steak and my spouse's excellent potatoe salad (thank you Dan Quayle). MMMmmm. Then I helped my son order a laptop and provided a bit of information to him for his trip to Alaska to college. He's paying for half of the laptop and we got such a deal from Dell it feels like we're each paying a third.

His trip to Alaska is mightly delectable. Four thousand miles or so and, I must have raised him right, not many on interstates. He'll be taking his 82 VW cabriolet with a buddy, all their stuff and a cello. He has been driving the car all summer on three cylinders but has it in the shop now for new struts, new injector and whatever it takes.

It does bring back a few memories of cross country trips when I was about his age. We didn't stop driving until we came to a freind or relative with food, lodging, a shower or a teenage daughter (unless our friend was a teenage daughter ).

 

Sorry Motor ON . . . looks like I posted to the wrong thread! I thought my response to you had been eaten by my computer: My response to you: Keep it up! These are very interesting photos. I suspect with enough attempts, some will go completely over the top. I'm thinking the same thing, in Sedona, with a little rock to go with the sky and light. Slickrock! The MINI gives such good curves. In any event, the photos you posted are engaging, and that says a lot.

 

Thanks, I was sitting here trying to find the advanced meaning of your first post knowing that something extremely insightful was behind it if I could comprehend the symbolism. Yeah unfourtunatley no more beaches to drive on and nothing by way of moutains out here on the edge of IL suburbia, but almost a year now and I'm overdue for vacationing road trip and I'm adding scenic locations as I wait.

Very cool to see the otherside, I grabbed these photos on Tuesday night though (sky was too different and it certainly was just as hot out)

I'd be thrilled to see this thread get the large a response, but I'll admit I had some inspartation from the detailing section (Pearl was long overdue for a bath so I no issue putting in a few hours for an exterior cleaning)

 

I haven't done any reflection photos but since I do love waxing the hyper blue after having waxed it, I am a bit inspired. I'm thinking Ghost Ranch, Chama River, Georgia Okeefe country. I'll need a shakedown this weekend if I get the XM installed without problems . . . about 70 miles and the proper light . . . .

 

#1 is my favorite. I have always liked reflection shots. Great job!

 

I might have one or two.

Finally got around to giving Twiggy a spa treatment including her first claying, partial polishing, and waxing. Came out pretty good.

Many thanks to Richard/OctaneGuy for offering the Detailing DVD prize as I learned a lot of things that I've been doing wrong, incorrectly, or not at all. The DVD really makes detailing easier to understand.

I only wish I had a nice dramatic sky to photograph some reflections with.

I'm still getting a grasp of detail shots, I think whatever item is focused on should be 100% in the picture. Otherwise, let's see some good photos to get us inspired.

ahhh...just playin. i did come across this one i shot on the henry hudson pkwy on the west side of manhattan on my way to a mini bbq in Bethpage LI. there were about 1000 bikes. it took forever for them to pass.



oh, and this one is kinda cool. couple reflections goin on.
