I just can't focus on an idea worth taking a photo of. For me, this month's topic is a challenge, and that's what makes it fun (as I'm trying to convince myself). You would think the auto-focus would give me plenty of opportunity...

Man, I've been playing with this idea and I now have almost a full series of shots along the same lines... Still haven't gotten that perfect one yet though :D

Hmmm, something like this? Ms. Speednut caught this one on the return trip from the NorCal Minis Yosemite run. The camera had an easier time auto-focusing on the bug jerky than on the yellow Mini & mini ahead. Reminds me of a really bad dusty slide scan.

Oh, and Kurt, that stuff on the sides of the photo is dead yellow stuff without traces of other colors. See, I told you it's not all water and green stuff here.

Hey speednut, I can't complain nowadays since the monsoons have started early. Noticed green in Prescott Valley, but not on the hills (yet).

I still need inspiration....:impatient

So would I! Have to keep vinegar and towels in the car.

SilverBullet3687, really like the way the silver Mini looks like it's leaping out of your rear quarter panel. Do you have a polarizer? Just wondering because the tan shorts and guy's leg (below A pilar) distract a bit from the otherwise cool photo.

Wow to be honest I never even saw that!!! amazing what other people will see. And I don't know if I have the polarizer, to be honest it looked cool, so i was like hm I'll get a picture, and just picked it up and snapped it!

Sorry, I should have been more specific. A polarizer filter is typically screwed onto the front of your camera lens. By rotating the filter, you can eliminate or enhance window or water reflections and can also make the sky look deep blue, make the green stuff look greener, etc. It's a very common filter in a landscape photographers camera bag.

I may have to steal your great composition idea later.

I almost submitted this one but didn't think my wry humor would, again, go over well.

It's not lost on me; quite funny indeed. Would love to see more photos of the Dr.'s creations there. I'm quite jealous that you get to see such cool places.

Hubie's a pretty cool guy, humbly intelligent.

Click on his pic to see one of his creations.

I guess I'm lucky to live about 30 minutes from the shop.

Here's a different version of the pic above, to show how tricky selective focusing can be.

What are you talking about? I really like it. However, I think it might fit the theme a bit better if the foreground was focused, and the full MINI in the background was out of focus.

Slow day, needed to practice my masking skills on the teacher's photos. Was wondering how the "hyper-focal" look would come out...

WOW. All these images are great.

Here's one using a model of a MINI I have on my desk. Soon I hope to have a real one in the driveway.
