Solar Red Ancestral Photo

I was at the local Wednesday night cruise-in just checking out the hot rods, American Muscle, and classic lowriders when all of a sudden a particular Bel Air caught my eye. The two-tone paint job was cool. It reminded me of a certain MINI color scheme.

Look familiar?

Obviously, I had some fun taking liberties with the pic since it's never gonna make it on the pages of Hot Rod or Lowrider magazines. (Oh, if you click on the pic, you can see a slightly larger version.)

Wow, what a paint job and bright work on that car. Very impressive. I also really like to desaturate everything that isn't relevant to your photo subject like you did in this photo. It really makes this Chevy pop out on the photo.

Cheers!

You should've seen some of the other cars!
(There was a pickup with paint job looking like a cross between Hyper Blue and Purple Haze. )

Thanks Dave.
The crowds there last night were big and the custom cars in full glory! (probably because of the fantastic weather we've been having lately.)

Solar Red varies alot depending on lighting, but when I was looking at colors for my '06, the Solar Red brought back my mind's eye memories of "Candy Apple Red" from my high school days and a friend's '57 Chev with Candy Apple Red paint
