What video editing software?
What video editing software?
What do you guys suggest for video editing software on Windows XP? I don't need a $2,000 package, just something I can use to edit the video from the VacuCam.

Vegas 6
I use Vegas 6 and love it. I used to be a hardcore Premiere user many many years ago--from 4.0 to 6.5. I was an Adobe ACE, and trained many people on it, and it worked fine in capable hands.
Vegas or it's lite version are excellent tools. Very fast and powerful, even with my lowly hardware of a P4-1.5GHz PC.
VacuCam footage or any footage for that matter can be edited on any software you choose. You will be limited by what can be exported and how easy the tool is. Many of the least expensive products limit control, to make it easier to use.

I'm forced to use Premiere at work, but I prefer Vegas. Much more intuitive interface, all the control you need is within easy reach at all times... Premiere is a pain in the neck. Maybe I'm biased because I learned how to use Acid (the software
) for producing music long before trying Vegas, and they are damn near the same. Because of the nature of Vegas & Acid, it's waaaaaay easier to work with sound in Vegas than Premiere.

If you don't have a MAC and use Final Cut Pro, then PC based editing is very enjoyable and easy to use Premiere Pro, version 2. Like spreading butter on bread, very easy. Plus Great features.

I worked with the Window Movie Maker last night and it was not too bad. I will try some of the others this weekend.
I've used Cyberlink's PowerDirector for several years. It's not as full powered as some of the other tools mentioned, but for < $100, it is much more capable than Windows movie maker.
