I think duct tape to the front bumper and using my remote will do the trick on my next attempt!

Don't forget Juan's advice to find a road with relatively nearby objects on the sides. That'll make a big difference.

This is on Thumb Butte Road, that is Thumb Butte straight ahead. I was holding the camera in my right hand, leaning way forward (if the freakin' seat belt would freakin' let me!!!!), glancing at the LCD screen, whoops watch the road fool! I should have been doing 80 mph to get more "in Motion" effect, eh?
The picture came out well, Kurt; in focus, good composition. It's not terribly interesting, however; the sky's dull and the oncoming car's kind of distracting. It looks like the sky's overcast? I don't recall that happening in the 2 years I was out there... ;-)

The sky sucks, was hoping for sunset colors. My other shot (on Flickr) has more color. We have been getting rain! Otherwords, boring!

One of the first pioneers, a "progessive" type with a lisp, first comment was "That's thome butte!" and it stuck. Doesn't sound bad as Snotsdale.

Here is another idea for "motion" theme. I don't like the lighting at this time.

I was trying to think of what to suggest to help you improve the shot but I'm drawing a blank. I like the idea and location and the shot is actually pretty good...hmmmm

It's been suggested to zoom or get closer, but then the bridge would not be part of it.
Let's get really dirty, full power drift in the dirt!!!

Trying something else out. Just a test shot.
I'm still "sitting it out" if motoring counts.
With all the consucktion going on and cinders still on the road it's not worth washing Swifty.
Note: this is sort of what it's like to be plastered, hanging out the window to puke...

Yeah Kurt I ctually kind of like the dirt on your car in that last shot. It gives it a nifty texture.

I've actually seen a car with marbelized stripes before and it was really cool. They were dark Green with black marbely type designs in the stripes on a black(or green) old muscle car. I was Jealous, it looked simply amazing...I would seriously debate doing something similar to a black mini.
I tried to find an example but this is the closest I could find

The lowriders specialize in this. The contest model builders showed me.
Doing stripes like this would be acceptable on a MINI.
[how'd we get on this subject? ]

On the way to tonight's killer sunset I took this for practice. I like the framing of the wheel, but the lack of double yellow line, and the houses.

Saving my favorite for later...

This thread is a good excuse for me to run to the store.

Had I not already posted this picture last year. I would enter it in this months contest.

If this was a dog web site where "in motion" was the subject...
Thought shooting against the sun's reflection would spaz the camera out and do something weird.
