MINIUSA @ Chicago Auto Show
MINIUSA @ Chicago Auto Show
A few weeks ago I had the opportunity to attend the 2006 Chicago Auto Show at McCormick Place by Lake Michigan. Fortunate circumstances allowed me to enter the building before the Sneak Peak for the MidWest MINI owners. This allowed me to snap off some shots of unobstructed cars and vehicle preparations. In particular, I set my sights on the MINI USA- and FTR- offering and the Chicago MINI Motoring Club's attendance at this exhibit prior the general public's admission.
Below, in no particular order, are a dozen (clickable) pix of that morning.

My apologies to anyone I might have stepped on or jostled in trying to snap these pictures. I also regret not having had the time to get a chance to talk with some of attendees at length.
(Brian, at least you said a few words to me. ChiliCooper S, if I had known it was you, I'd have tried to get away for a few minutes and introduced myself to you and your dad. And, of course, I wish I had had the time to pay my respects to Gabe of Motoringfile.com.)
As is the custom here, I welcome criticism/suggestions, especially when it comes to choice of lenses, use of ambient or flash lighting, and post-processing of the RAW files, specifically the levels (still trying to get the hang of that tool).

Great Pics! Didn't realize you were such a traveler. I've always dreamed of going to the auto show before the double-wide strollers and the rude people who knowingly get in the frame of a nice picture. I could care less about getting in and slamming doors, I enjoy the colors and displays. Looking forward to chatting with you at AMVIV.
