I have a $35 Manfrotto monopod, '05 MCS conv. A month ago with my top down through light rain my wife held my camcorder above the windscreen while I chased down motorcycles on the "Tail of the Dragon" in TN,NC. The DVD I edited on my Mac with soundtract etc. has been playing in our Mini Showroom for the last 3 weeks. If you have someone riding shotgun you don't need all this expensive BS, just a monopod. Go to any NASCAR event or NFL game and all the photographers are shooting Canons with long lenses anchored on monopods.
