Finally bought a DSLR

Will get it next week...it's from a former client of mine.

Canon D60 with battery packs, case, manuals, books...blah blah...

AND...

a 28-135mm lens with image stabilizer

AND...

a 70-200 lens with image stabilizer

all for $1000

it's been sitting in its case for the last 6 months. he bought a 20D and kept this as a backup but realized he never used it. as it's my first DSLR, i would say this is a good starter kit.

Congratulations and welcome to the D-SLR moneypit.

Nice stuff there at a good price. 28mm isn't very wide though so you may want to look at picking up a wide angle, even if it's just the 18-55mm.

Looking forward to your work with the new camera.

Great to hear Hafid! Yeah I bought a Nikon D70s a few weeks ago, and it's really a dream to shoot with. For me, it's been fantastic to be able to use 15 year old Nikkor AF lenses that were completely underutilized when I shot film, now that I can shoot hundreds of pix and have full control over the RAW image, it completely changes everything.

Welcome to the DSLR world!

Wow what a steal Hafid! I have the D60 with the 28-135 IS as well, it is a great lens. I also have the Sigma 15-30 for wider angles, and more recently purchased the sigma 75-300 APO. Of course I spent a HECK of a lot more buying that stuff new than you got that great package for! Enjoy it!
