Questions about RAW images
Okay, so I may not have a DSLR (I was mistaken) but my digital 828 is capable of almost everything listed in the above two posts short of the barrel changes. All of the aperture and shutter features of my old 35mm cameras are there and then some. Menu driven sure, butthat'sokay in my book. Point and shoot is too. With 28 - 200mm equivalent focal length, I'm thrilled with the camera. I'm no pro, certainly, but coming from the old Canon A1 and AE1 days, I'm thrilled with the instant satisfaction of the Sony... and with 1.5 gig of CS and MSP memory on board, the sheer quantity of quality stills is amazing.
Best $1000.00 I spent on photography -- (so far).
I'm enjoying reading all the input from you folks. Good info!

Sony's breakthrough SLR camera with a great, sharp 7x zoom lens and a full 8 megapixel resolution. Macro capability setting and adjustable ISO from 64 to 800, enough to cover almost any situation. Instant on and off and minimum shutter lag when pre-focussed for sport shooting. Hot shoe for strobes, on or off camera. Histogram for exposure checking.
